Sympathy Vs. Igorance- Ignorance Wins

What triggered the earthquake in Haiti? Was it the moving tectonic plates or is it because God is punishing Haiti? According to some portions of the news and from the mouths of my own family and friends Haiti is being punished. So that means babies and children are evil and devious that is why they are being penalized. Seriously, does that make any damn sense. Basically many people are concluding that it is completely acceptable if people in Haiti die. What about Americans that were previously present in Haiti conducting research or were on a vacation? Are Americans part of the punished category? It seems not because Americans are highlighted in the news and seem to obtain aid before any Haitian individual. You have the right to think however way you want but shouldn’t one have a legitimate reason? Do you think the occurrence of natural disasters is a sign from God or a way of being tortured? Which country is next? What is Haiti being punished for? Are they being punished for their economic standing? If so then why has America not had their share of punishments from nature yet? Do people even know to what extent their words can bring even greater destruction? If you happened to be hit by a drunk driver when you least expected it would you consider that a punishment from God? Yes there is a reason for everything but does it make that reason fair or to blame an entire population of something beyond their control? Couldn’t it be that the earthquake in Haiti symbolizes unity? Why else would people come together? To aggravate the situation further? People can truly be ignorant no matter how much education he/she has which is very frightening because we never know who we might come across. Just try to be open minded, it will not do you any harm, in fact as you get use to it you will feel as a better person with a purpose to execute!

My name is Mona and yes I am an actual person who loves to hear, understand and feel what people have to share. I am a recent college graduate of sociology. I think this is a very important piece of information that I should supply you with because as a sociology major it was necessary that I read many books/articles and listen very carefully to my peers and that includes my bloggers.
